Outreach is very important to the congregation at Grace United Church and it takes many forms as we seek “to nurture one another, to reach out to meet the needs of local and world communities ” as stated in our Vision Statement.
Annually, we support internationally and nationally, initiatives and charities, through donations to the Mission and Service Fund of the United Church of Canada. As well, our congregation regularly responds to appeal in response to help for those affected by war and/or natural disasters.
An ongoing, important outreach project for the congregation is supporting the Caribbean Workers Project, which involves seasonal migrant workers. For more information about this project click on the link :CWOP
We support many local charities including: Newark Neighbours, a local agency providing food and clothing to less fortunate residents of the area, Womens Shelters in Niagara Falls and St. Catharines, Out of the Cold Mens Project, and others.
At a congregational meeting Nov 30, 2015, it was decided to sponsor a Syrian Refugee family. If you would like to join us as a volunteer or just contribute financially, please contact the church office or Bob Goodwin at 905-468-8981. To read more about our sponsored family
